LU decomposition using Gaussian elimination without pivoting

Gaussian elimination without pivoting is a technique for obtaining the LU decomposition ($A=LU$) of a square nonsingular matrix A. Various versions of this technique are based either on the idea of eliminating nonzero coefficients using elementary matrices or on solving the equation $A=LU$ for the matrices L and U.
